Warren Park hosted their first Macmillan Coffee Morning on Friday 26th September. The turnout was great, with most of the park residents, and their friends and families showing their support. Many residents brought incredible handmade cakes and treats including cupcakes, crumbles, cheese straws, and even a mississippi mud pie. The weather was on our side and the sun shone down on the gazebo filled with delicious snacks. The coffee morning was completely run by residents and there were plenty of fundraising opportunities with a raffle and games, all prizes were provided by residents also, including a beautiful layered cake.
The community at Warren Park often gets together to host events, including monthly BBQs during the summer months. The residents love to get together to catch up and enjoy each other’s company, it’s a testimony to the community that has been built. We can confidently say this is the first of many coffee mornings going forward!
Up in Scotland, another coffee morning was hosted at Heatherbank Country Park ahead of September Weekend.
At the end of the day, with both parks efforts combined, Laird Estates Group raised over an astonishing £800 for Macmillan Cancer Support. We’re so thankful for the residents that turned out and helped support the cause.
